1975 Cincuenta Centavos -- $225???

Ok...first let me preface this by saying that I'm not buying this coin on eBay, but just wondered what it might be worth. I received this very same coin -- 1975 Cincuenta Centavos -- in my change today in place of a quarter.

I was curious as to what it was worth, so checked on eBay. There is no way this coin is worth $225, is there???? (Mine is the same 'under sized' one, too.)

Here's the guy's eBay listing...

Does anyone know what this coin might really be worth and what the silver content might be?

Thanks!

I have no idea about the value of the coin in the auction, but I do have some opinions. The auction is for an error coin struck on the wrong planchet. That would add to the value of a genuine coin. However, the lister is in China, so it's probably a fake. Whatever the silver content of the original coin is does not matter for this auction as this coin has probably no silver in it.

Edit: APMEX does have these for sale: http://www.apmex.com/Category/904/Me...ver_Coins.aspx. It doesn't list the year of the coin, but it is 50 centavo pieces with a big 50 on the reverse. They are .1929 oz. silver. They are selling for 1.99 over melt for 5.01.
